The Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club

The CCRMC is the local rock and mineral club of the Keweenaw.  It meets once a month throughout the year and goes on field trips in the summer and early fall.  To the local public the club is most well known for running the gem and mineral show at the elementary school in Houghton each August.  Collectors interested in spending some time rock hunting in the U.P. may want to look into the book the club put together that contains a plethora of maps and information.  “Red Gold and Tarnished Silver” is an excellent resource for learning what minerals are found at which poor rock piles and where the piles are.  For book sale information, membership fees, club activities and officers please see their website, link provided below.
